HB 6023 Educational Facilities
SB 424 Educational Facilities
This bill would delete the language that allows Schools of Hope charters to co-locate in our public schools.
UPDATE: This bill did not pass. Colocations are happening in districts. Go to the Schools of Nope website to learn more.
SB 318 Educational Scholarship Programs
This bill would implement important accountability measures for our K-12 voucher programs, limiting waste on tax funds. Currently, the House does not have a companion bill.
UPDATE: This bill passed unanimously in the Senate, but the House refused to take up a companion bill.
HB 1147 Charter Schools
SB 824 Charter Schools
This bill would require school districts to have an agreement to construct a school on vacant land by a certain date. If not, they will be required to award the land to a charter operator that submits the best proposal, even if it is under market value and even if there is not a demonstrated need for an additional school.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: The language requiring districts to sell property has been removed.
Special Session on Property Taxes

Below is a link to an interactive map where you can see how your school district will be affected by the proposals. FPI is also hosting a webinar on June 4; registration information is below.
