Gwynetta Gittens has dedicated her life to the power of education, as a teacher, corporate training manager, adjunct professor, author, and entrepreneur. At the heart of all her work is a simple goal: to share knowledge that helps make someone’s future brighter. Gwyn’s most memorable experience in education was serving her community as the first minority member in 132 years on the Lee County School Board, including serving as Chair.

Guided by her background and Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, Gwyn stepped into governance ready to listen and tackle tough challenges. Driven by a desire to be a “Voice of the Voiceless,” she advocated for overlooked issues in public education and created local parenting programs to support families directly.

In 2026, Gwyn published her memoir, UNERASABLE… I’m Still Here, sharing lessons from her time on the board, and launched a podcast exploring how an unerasable mindset can transform lives.

Together, as a community, nation, and world, we must always keep education first, and Families For Strong Public Schools is proud to help lead the way.
